Wage Increase for “Kalats” Workers

The acting governor of the Red Sea State, Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, issued a decision to increase the wages of loading and unloading workers, known as “Kalats,” by 100%.
The decision, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Ahdath, stipulates that the wages for loading and unloading workers inside and outside ships be increased by 100% from the current wage rates, effective November 20, 2024.
The decision also mandates the addition of two more workers per “Kalat” for loading and unloading operations within ships.
