Gaza Government: Hundreds of Thousands of Displaced Prepare to Live on Streets Without Aid or Shelter
The Government Media Office in Gaza stated that hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals in the Strip are preparing to live on the streets without aid or shelter.
The office noted on Monday that seawater had washed away about 10,000 tents set up for displaced persons in the Strip as winter approaches. It reiterated an urgent plea to save hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals before it is too late. In a report published on Telegram, the office said 81% of the displaced persons’ tents in Gaza have become unusable, with about 1.5 million displaced people across the governorates of Gaza preparing to live on the streets without aid or shelter.
It also emphasized that the number of displaced individuals is “increasing daily amid the occupation’s crime of forced displacement,” noting that many have been displaced over five consecutive times and remain “oppressed under the harsh conditions imposed by the occupation.”
