Kane: Bayern Must Win All Four Remaining Champions League Matches
Harry Kane, Bayern Munich’s star striker, believes his team must win all their remaining four group-stage matches to secure a top-eight spot and direct qualification to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
The Bavarian side has had a rough start, losing two of their first four matches—0-1 to Aston Villa and 1-4 to Barcelona—while securing wins over Dinamo Zagreb (9-2) and Benfica (1-0), collecting just six out of 12 possible points.
Speaking on the eve of a crucial clash against Paris Saint-Germain at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Kane said:
“We’re not used to being in this position. We fully understand where we are. If we want to secure one of the top eight spots, we have to win our remaining four matches. The same applies to Paris Saint-Germain, so it’s going to be a tough match.”
He added:
“It will definitely be a challenging game. PSG is a strong team that likes to dominate possession, just as we do.”
Kane concluded:
“We have a slight advantage since we’re playing at home. This is the start of a busy period of matches before the winter break.”
Bayern Munich’s coach, Vincent Kompany, said:
“We’re facing one of Europe’s biggest teams. PSG has an incredible coach and plays with great speed. This will be a top match, and I don’t expect it to be dull.”
Kompany also noted:
“At the beginning of the season, we knew we needed six wins to qualify directly for the Round of 16 or three wins to secure a playoff spot. With the current standings and the remaining schedule, it’s hard to draw conclusions.”
