Sudan Events – Updates
The Al-Jazeera Conference revealed a sharp increase in the death toll in East Al-Jazeera, central Sudan, with over 1,000 casualties due to shootings by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the resulting siege that caused a lack of medicine.
In a statement, the conference noted that “the number of martyrs who fell either by RSF bullets or due to poisoning, disease outbreaks, and lack of healthcare in besieged areas has risen significantly.”
The death toll in the town of Hilaliya reached 610, while Wad Ashib reported 56 deaths due to the siege and lack of medical care.
In Rafaa, the number of victims rose to 128, although some sources indicate that the death toll may have exceeded 300.
The conference also reported receiving accounts from Rafaa confirming an increase in fatalities in the city, caused by either RSF gunfire or the ongoing siege and absence of healthcare services.
