Shared Issues Between Sudan and South Sudan Discussed at Al-Burhan and Machar’s Meeting

On Wednesday, the Head of the Transitional Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met with the First Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, Dr. Riek Machar.
The meeting addressed bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them for the benefit of both countries’ peoples.
In a press statement, Sudan’s Ambassador to Juba, General Essam Al-Din Karrar, said that the visit of the Head of the Sovereign Council received high-level attention from President Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan. He explained that the two presidents held two private meetings to discuss shared issues between the two countries and files of cooperation and bilateral relations. Ambassador Karrar added that the visit yielded positive outcomes that would have a favorable impact on the path of cooperation between the two nations.
Ambassador Karrar also explained that the meeting between General Al-Burhan and Dr. Riek Machar was fruitful and constructive, during which they discussed common issues related to the joint cooperation between Sudan and South Sudan.
