The Sudanese army, along with the Sudan Shield Forces led by Abu Aqla Kikil, took control on Thursday morning of a key entrance gate to the city of Wad Madani, the capital of the Al-Jazeera State, with progress in several directions.
Field sources informed “Al-Muhaqiq” that the forces controlled the Al-Aribab area, which represents the eastern gateway to Wad Madani, on the main road connecting the city with other cities in eastern Sudan.
The sources indicated that militia forces withdrew with the families of their collaborators from several areas in the southern part of Al-Jazeera State. However, the rest of the militia forces remained stationed at the 77 Bridge after the army took control of the 57 Bridge, one of the most important entry points to Wad Madani from the southwestern side of the city.
The army also confirmed its control over several areas along the western axis coming from the city of Managil, including around the Beika Bridge, which is located 15 kilometers from Wad Madani.
