Expectations of Increased Exports of Sesame, Beans, and Gum Arabic
Sudan Events – Follow-up
The Joint Revenue Administration in the Kosti locality announced achieving 90% of the total revenue target for the 2024 fiscal year.
The Director of the Joint Revenue Administration in Kosti, Al-Sadiq Abu Al-Qasim, confirmed that this achievement was due to the coordination and combined efforts of the administration’s staff and the close coordination between his administration and related authorities. He revealed the administration’s efforts to create a conducive working environment and ensure job satisfaction, which contributed to the high achievement.
He highlighted the plan to implement the network linkage program, which will benefit Kosti as well as the localities of Qali and Al-Salam. He praised the coordination between his administration and the joint revenue administrations of Qali and Al-Salam, noting that the three localities had formed a partnership. He also mentioned that his administration had waived export fees for goods from Kosti to the other two localities as part of a broader strategy to foster solidarity and achieve the highest revenue figures.
He stated that his administration’s main focus in revenue collection is on goods and crops, noting the low productivity in the previous season. However, he anticipated large quantities of this year’s harvest, especially maize, and an increase in exports of cash crops such as sesame, beans, and gum arabic.
