Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ali Youssef emphasized the need for providing psychological support programs for war survivors and survivors of rape.
During his meeting with Argentina Bessini, UNFPA Representative in Sudan, the Minister discussed the Fund’s work program in Sudan, the projects it is implementing, and the Fund’s future plans.
The minister expressed his gratitude for the fruitful cooperation between Sudan and the UNFPA and pointed out the need to offer rehabilitation programs for war and gender-based violence survivors, as well as psychological support for rape survivors and training for youth.
For her part, the UNFPA Representative confirmed the Fund’s intention to increase support for maternal health, reduce maternal mortality, and support reproductive health programs.
