Bundesliga: Bayern Extends Lead, Leverkusen Nears Second Place
Bayern Munich strengthened their grip on the Bundesliga lead with a 4-2 victory over Heidenheim in Matchday 13. Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen moved closer to second place with a 2-1 win over St. Pauli, as Eintracht Frankfurt drew 2-2 with Augsburg.
Elsewhere, Werder Bremen defeated Bochum 1-0, and RB Leipzig claimed a 2-0 win at Holstein Kiel.
Bayern now leads the table with 33 points, six clear of second-placed Frankfurt and seven ahead of third-placed Leverkusen.
At the Allianz Arena, Bayern took a 1-0 lead in the first half with Dayot Upamecano’s 18th-minute goal. Heidenheim equalized in the 50th minute through Mathias Honsak. Six minutes later, Jamal Musiala restored Bayern’s advantage.
Leon Goretzka added a third goal in the 84th minute, but Niklas Dorsch pulled one back for Heidenheim a minute later. Musiala capped off a superb individual performance with his second goal in the dying moments, securing the win for Bayern.
