Fiorentina Continues Its Winning Streak, Secures Eighth Consecutive Victory

Fiorentina achieved its eighth consecutive victory in Serie A, defeating Cagliari 1–0 on Sunday during Matchday 15. This marked their first win since midfielder Edoardo Bove’s health scare last week.
Fiorentina currently sits fourth with 31 points, just three points behind temporary league leader Atalanta, who defeated AC Milan 2–1 on Friday. Fiorentina also has a postponed match to complete, halted last week when Bove collapsed on the pitch and was rushed to the hospital. This streak is Fiorentina’s best in Serie A since April 1960.
Danilo Cataldi scored the match’s only goal in the 24th minute.
Before the game, Fiorentina captain Luca Ranieri expressed frustration over reports claiming that Bove would need a pacemaker, potentially forcing him to move abroad due to strict health regulations in Italian sports.
The situation draws parallels with Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, who left Inter Milan in 2021 after suffering a cardiac arrest during the UEFA Euro tournament. Eriksen, now equipped with a pacemaker, plays for Manchester United and represents Denmark internationally.
Ranieri urged respect for Bove’s privacy, saying, “Many false things have been written and said about him.” Fiorentina’s coach Raffaele Palladino echoed this, expressing hope for Bove’s swift return to the pitch.
After scoring, Cataldi dedicated the goal to Bove, gesturing toward the camera with a heart and Bove’s jersey number (4).
