Preparations for Currency Replacement: Omdurman National Bank Begins Opening New Accounts

In line with the directives of the Central Bank of Sudan for banks operating in secure states to facilitate the opening of bank accounts in preparation for the currency replacement process scheduled from December 10, 2024, to December 23, 2024, a team from the Omdurman National Bank, Shendi branch, initiated the opening of bank accounts.

The team, led by Bakri Abbas Al-Haj, Salah Al-Din Othman, and Awad Fath Al-Rahman, began opening accounts for employees in the Culture, Media, and Communications Department of Shendi locality and the Khartoum Journalists Association.

The procedures were carried out smoothly at the headquarters of the Culture and Media Administration, in the presence of the Director-General, Bakri Al-Azraq.

This step comes as currency replacement will be done through bank deposits. The Central Bank has encouraged citizens to use available electronic payment methods, such as applications. The Omdurman National Bank offers a mobile payment application called “O-Cash.”
