Bank of Khartoum Begins Currency Exchange
Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Bank of Khartoum launched the currency exchange process in Port Sudan and its other branches in the states on Tuesday.
The bank’s General Manager, Lamia Kamal Satti, oversaw the exchange operations, touring various departments to ensure the bank’s plan for currency exchange was implemented smoothly.
Tajani Karamah, the Director of Branches at the bank, explained that a large number of employees were called in to handle the surge in customer demand and to fill any gaps in services. This was done to ease the process of opening accounts and provide better customer service.
Ayman Al-Shalkani, Director of Retail Banking at Bank of Khartoum, confirmed that the bank had started currency exchange and account opening in both the states and Khartoum, noting the positive reception from citizens regarding the currency exchange process. The bank also provided centers in safe areas of all states, and due to the lack of banking services in many regions due to the war, the bank plans to increase the number of centers, including mobile ones, to facilitate account opening. Temporary locations will also be set up in front of the bank’s branches to accommodate any number of customers, under the slogan “You are first.”
