Chamber of Commerce Waives Fees for Issuing Gold Export Certificates

Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
The Sudanese Chamber of Commerce announced its decision to waive all financial rights for issuing certificates and to provide them free of charge to its members, including gold exporters from companies and individuals, through the unified gold export window. This step aims to contribute to the development of the gold export project.
The Chamber welcomed the launch of the gold window as the first step toward creating windows for all Sudanese exports.
The Chamber also revealed the design of an electronic documentation program for gold and precious metal export certificates, incorporating QR codes on the certificates printed with special security standards outside the country to ensure the security of the certificates and prevent any potential counterfeiting.
The Chamber emphasized that it was among the first to support the decision to establish the window, and its executive administration, under the supervision of the Secretary-General and his deputy, sent three employees to work on the gold export window in Port Sudan.
In a statement issued after participating in the inauguration ceremony of the Sudan Unified Gold Export Window, the Chamber highlighted that the opening of the window demonstrates the real partnership between the public and private sectors and leads to the organization, development, and preservation of the country’s gold and precious metals exports.
The Chamber also reiterated its firm belief that the responsibility for leading the country’s economic development lies with the private sector in Sudan.
