Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Bank clients have requested, during the third day of currency exchange, for banks to open branches in the outskirts and remote villages.
The Monitoring and Operations Room continued its visits to commercial banks to check on the currency exchange process for the 500 and 1000-pound notes.
The visit revealed an increased demand for opening accounts and depositing currency, as well as banks’ adherence to the Central Bank of Sudan’s circular simplifying the process of opening accounts and accepting national identification for account openings.
The Monitoring and Operations Room delegation stressed the need for network connectivity between the banks and the civil registry.
