Sudan Events – Reports
The High Committee for Currency Exchange in Gadarif State revealed significant demand from citizens to open accounts, as well as a large increase in cash deposits across banks in various localities of the state over the past three days.
The committee reviewed the performance of technical, security, financial, administrative, and media teams through reports provided by the heads of the committees. The committee emphasized the need for daily field monitoring of the banks in the state and the opening of more accounts for business owners and farmers to meet the requirements of commercial operations and the ongoing harvest in the region, while adhering to the cash withdrawal limits set by the high committee. The committee also confirmed that banks in the state should operate on Fridays and Saturdays to accommodate customers for deposits and account openings. Additionally, the committee formed groups to visit the localities to monitor the progress of the currency exchange process.
