Luis Enrique: “I’m Having My Best Season Yet”
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique claimed on Saturday that this season has been statistically the best of his career, dismissing rumors of tension with his players.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s match against Lyon, Enrique said:
“Statistically, this is my best season as a coach. Even if criticized by the media, the numbers and opportunities created show it.”
PSG remains undefeated domestically, leading Ligue 1 by five points over Marseille and Monaco. However, the team is struggling in the Champions League, sitting in 25th place and at risk of an early exit.
Enrique emphasized the collective effort, saying:
“We don’t rely on any single player. The team is improving daily, and training standards are rising.”
He also dismissed reports of tension with winger Ousmane Dembélé, stating:
“I have the same relationship with all my players. I’m not their father, brother, or friend; I’m the coach, and my job is to make decisions for the team’s benefit.”
PSG faces Monaco in Ligue 1 on Wednesday and Lens in the French Cup on December 22 after Sunday’s match against Lyon.
