The Director-General of the Geological Research Authority, Geological Advisor Ahmed Haroun El Tom, has urged investors to focus on industrial minerals. Speaking at the opening session of the Mining Investment Forum in River Nile State’s city of Atbara on Saturday, he emphasized the private sector’s significant role during the war and its contribution to stability.
El Tom revealed the authority’s intention to conduct detailed studies of state resources in the coming period and stressed the need for stronger coordination between state governments and the Ministry of Minerals.
He noted that River Nile has transformed into an industrial hub following the war, with the relocation of several factories to the state, necessitating the provision of raw materials. Additionally, he highlighted plans to establish partnerships with the private sector and universities to implement new projects.
