River Nile Governor Calls for Expanding Mineral Exploration

The Governor of the River Nile State, Mohamed Al-Badawi Abdul-Majid, called for increased efforts in mineral exploration and diversification of mining resources within the state.
Addressing the opening session of the Mining Investment Forum in Atbara city on Saturday, attended by the Director-General of the General Authority for Geological Research, Consultant Geologist Ahmed Haroun Al-Tom, the governor stressed the importance of sustainable planning and resource management to secure the rights of future generations.
He also announced plans to establish three airports in the state to boost exports and imports.
The governor directed the state government to ensure the inclusion of the General Authority for Geological Research’s branch office in all committees related to urban, economic, and environmental planning.
