Sudan’s Central Bureau of Statistics reported a rise in the inflation rate for November 2024, reaching 198.22%, an increase of 1.20% compared to October.
According to a press statement issued on Sunday, the inflation index for November climbed to 35,876.50 points, up from 35,452.17 points in October, when the rate stood at 211.48%.
The report highlighted that the general price level for November 2024 increased by 198.22% compared to the same month in the previous year.
For food and beverage items, the consumer price index rose to 160,230.80 points in November 2024, compared to 158,776.49 points in October, a monthly increase of 1,454.31 points, or 0.92%.
In urban areas, the consumer price index reached 249,298.51 points in November 2024, compared to 96,289.67 points in November 2023, reflecting a year-over-year inflation rate of 158.90%.
Meanwhile, rural areas recorded an index of 473,384.12 points for November 2024, compared to 145,248.87 points in November 2023, indicating a year-over-year inflation rate of 225.91%.
