Premier League: Crystal Palace Ends Brighton’s Unbeaten Streak with a 3-1 Victory

Crystal Palace winger Ismaïla Sarr scored twice to lead his team to a 3-1 victory over rivals Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Sunday, handing Brighton their first home defeat in the Premier League this season.
According to Reuters, the visitors struck first when defender Trevoh Chalobah fired a close-range shot into the top corner in the 27th minute, following a well-executed corner by Will Hughes that caused chaos in Brighton’s box. Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen made two saves before conceding a second goal six minutes later when Sarr headed home a precise cross from left-back Tyrick Mitchell.
Brighton launched a wave of attacks after the break, but Sarr scored his second goal of the match, leaving the hosts with a steep climb. A late own goal by defender Marc Guéhi in the 87th minute sealed the victory for Palace. Unbeaten in their last five league matches, Palace moved up to 15th in the standings with 16 points from as many matches.
Brighton dropped to ninth place with 24 points, four points behind Nottingham Forest in fourth.
