The Central Bank Governor Emphasizes Preventing Counterfeit Currency in Banks

The Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Burai Siddiq, reiterated his directives to bank managers to mobilize their workforce and leverage all human, logistical, and technical resources to facilitate the currency exchange process.

He stressed the importance of using counterfeit detection devices to prevent fake currency from infiltrating the banking system. The governor also called for the presence of bank leadership to oversee operations and address any emerging issues.

On Sunday, for the second consecutive day, the governor continued his tour to monitor the progress of currency exchange operations in various banks in Port Sudan. He was accompanied by members of the High Committee for Currency Exchange, the Operations Room, and specialized committees.

The tour included visits to several banks, including Nilein Bank, Sudanese French Bank, Sudanese Islamic Bank, Al Baraka Bank, Real Estate Commercial Bank, Sudanese National Bank, and National Workers Bank.

The currency exchange operations in the designated states are set to conclude on December 23.
