Sudan’s Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohieddin Naeem Mohamed Said, confirmed the ministry’s readiness to welcome a delegation of Russian companies planning to visit Sudan in two stages at the end of this year and the beginning of the next.
The minister met with the Russian Ambassador to Sudan on Monday to discuss several investment opportunities Russia is considering in Sudan, particularly in oil, gas, and electricity sectors.
The minister emphasized that Sudan had made significant progress in oil and electricity agreements with Russia and expressed a preference for working with major countries like Russia and China through their large companies in the energy and oil sectors, especially in the currently secure areas.
In turn, the Russian Ambassador stated that major companies have the capability to protect their investments and revealed that a delegation from Russian companies, led by the head of the Russian-Sudanese government committee, would visit Sudan soon. He added that Russia has the expertise to help develop Sudan’s economy in various sectors such as electricity, oil, railways, factory construction, roads, ports, and infrastructure in general.
