The Banks Union Offers a New Service to the Public via (Siraaj System)
Sudan Events – Reports
The Sudanese Banks Union called on citizens to open accounts at any bank in the targeted states for currency replacement and deposit their funds before the end of the replacement period to avoid losing their value, as they will become invalid after the specified date. The Union added, “They can later transfer their funds to any bank of their choice via the Siraaj System, noting that transfers via Siraaj are unlimited and have no ceiling.”
The Union emphasized that this initiative is a service for both old and new customers of the banking sector. The Union’s press statement on Saturday attributed the move to the nearing end of the currency replacement period and the need to address the congestion at certain banks.
The President of the Sudanese Banks Union, Abbas Abdullah Abbas, stated that banks are at the forefront of the currency replacement project and have fulfilled all their commitments to ensure its success. He highlighted that the currency replacement is a national concern aimed at addressing the imbalances in the banking system caused by thefts and looting, as well as combating counterfeit currency. The replacement also contributes to the country’s economic recovery and promotes financial inclusion by integrating citizens into the financial system.
