The Northern State Chamber of Commerce has emphasized the need to activate the operations of border crossings.
During a meeting on Sunday between Halfa locality’s Chamber of Commerce delegation and Northern State Governor Abideen Awadallah at his office, discussions focused on revitalizing border crossing operations to achieve economic benefits for the state and Sudan.
Tawfiq Mohamed Hassan, Secretary of the Halfa Chamber of Commerce, stated that the meeting builds upon prior consultations during the governor’s recent visit to Halfa locality regarding border crossing issues. He noted that the governor was briefed on the obstacles hindering export and import activities at the crossings.
He added that plans are underway to visit the administrative capital, Port Sudan, to pursue the matter further with relevant ministries and authorities, following support and encouragement from the governor.
