Sudan Events – Agencies
The Islamic Fiqh Academy announced that those who delay or fail to exchange currency are sinful. The Academy considered this an act of wasting money, which the Prophet (peace be upon him) prohibited, as stated in the Hadith of Mughira bin Shu’ba: “Indeed, Allah has disliked for you three things: gossip, wasting money, and asking excessive questions.”
Professor Adel Hassan Hamza, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Fiqh Academy, called on all Sudanese people to quickly exchange their paper currency before the deadline set by the government. He emphasized the importance of public participation in the currency exchange project as a significant national endeavor. He also urged adherence to the guidelines set by the National Currency Exchange Committee to preserve wealth and contribute to achieving economic stability in the country.
The Fiqh Academy further called on the government and relevant authorities to protect vulnerable groups from the impacts of currency exchange and suggested involving volunteers, particularly youth, to assist bank employees in completing this major national task. Additionally, the Academy issued a fatwa regarding currency exchange through banking applications.
