Bank Announces Deposit of 700 Million Sudanese Pounds to the Central Bank

The manager of Al-Osra Bank, Shendi Branch, Mamoun Mohamed Hamed Al-Jumri, revealed that the bank is opening new accounts, with about 650 new accounts opened since December 10th. He confirmed that the bank continues with other financial and banking operations.
He praised the extension of the currency exchange period until December 30th, pointing out that there was congestion before the extension for the purpose of depositing and opening accounts.
He confirmed that the transactions are proceeding smoothly without any issues for customers or operations at the bank.
He added that the bank transferred 700 million Sudanese pounds during the past period to the city of Atbara in preparation for its transfer to the Central Bank of Sudan in Port Sudan.
He indicated that there are around 11,000 deposits from pensioners in Khartoum State’s three cities, including National Fund pensions, Social Security pensions, and police and security pensions.
He confirmed that the procedures for depositing and exchanging old currency are proceeding smoothly, adding that the largest deposit from a client was 80 million Sudanese pounds, in addition to other deposits. He further noted that customers can withdraw up to 200,000 Sudanese pounds in the new currency.
