Guardiola: We Didn’t Expect the Decline… I Won’t Give Up
Spanish manager Pep Guardiola of Manchester City confirmed that he did not expect his team’s decline, stating that fixing the issue will take more time, and he won’t give up. Manchester City has struggled in the Premier League, failing to win their last three matches, and they are preparing to face Leicester City on Sunday in the 19th round of the English Premier League.
Guardiola said: “I won’t give up, I want to be here.”
He added: “Now we will go to Leicester, which is always difficult, but the players will be ready.”
He continued, “We’ll keep trying. Sometimes you expect fixing things to be easy, but it will take longer.”
Guardiola concluded, “I’ve always wanted to please people and do well in my job.”
The Spanish coach remarked, “We’ve had great tests, we’ll come back, but we remember how good the past was, how many years we were incredibly consistent. We’re a little down, but we didn’t expect this.”
Guardiola finished his statements, saying, “I see the team, their spirit, and how focused they are in training.”
