West Ham Coach: We Are Not Afraid of Liverpool
Julen Lopetegui, the head coach of West Ham, confirmed that his team will not be afraid to face Liverpool, the league leaders, despite their long list of absentees. West Ham will host Liverpool at the London Olympic Stadium at 7:15 PM on Sunday, as part of the 19th round of the Premier League.
Lopetegui said, “Am I afraid? No, I am not afraid. We respect all teams, but we give the same respect to Southampton, Liverpool, and everyone.” He added: “We are talking about the best team in the Premier League, the best players, and a very good coach. They are at the top, but we must trust ourselves, our strength, and our capabilities.”
He continued, “We have to find solutions and make decisions about the upcoming challenge. We are happy to have such types of matches, and we know the difficulties, but in the same way, we trust our players.” He concluded, “We are talking about the best team in the Premier League by a large margin, which is enough reason for us to be prepared. Now, we need to rest and get ready for the next challenge. It’s time to make use of the players we need.”
