Port Sudan – Rahab Abdullah
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared its strong rejection of the use of food security issues and famine claims to implement hidden agendas against the country.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Sudanese government recognizes the vital role of international cooperation in addressing food security challenges but expressed deep concern over the Integrated Phase Classification (IPC) Food Security Report issued on December 24. The Sudanese government raised several issues, including methodological shortcomings, geographical limitations, displacement, violations in sampling, and tactics such as the blockade, attacks targeting relief workers and logistical convoys, looting of food stocks, monopolizing essential resources, price inflation, and the destruction of vital agricultural infrastructure, including roads, electricity, and water. The statement also highlighted the escalating conflict in agricultural areas, the absence of essential data, procedural errors, and the need for stability restoration to facilitate humanitarian assistance and enhance food security.
