Napoli Terminates Mario Rui’s Contract by Mutual Agreement
Napoli, competing in the Italian Serie A, announced on Monday that the club and defender Mario Rui have mutually agreed to terminate his contract immediately.
Rui, the former Portuguese national team left-back, initially joined Napoli on loan from Roma in 2017. His contract was extended last year to run until June 2026.
However, the 33-year-old, who played over 170 Serie A matches for Napoli, fell out of favor after Antonio Conte took over as coach for the 2024-2025 season.
