Agreement to Resolve Port Workers’ Salaries Issue

The Director-General of the Sudanese Ports Authority, Mohamed Hassan Mukhtar, informed the workers at the Ports Authority that an agreement had been reached with the Central Bank of Sudan in Port Sudan to resolve the salary issue.
During his visit to the Central Bank on Wednesday and his meeting with the governor, he announced that the bank had pledged to open bank accounts for the workers and facilitate their access to their financial entitlements without delay.
The Director-General directed the port workers to continue their work and production, emphasizing that the agreement with the central bank would enable them to receive their full entitlements through accessible banking services.
He also pointed out that the authority, through the efforts and production of its workers, is a major supporter of the state, the armed forces, and the national economy, and that the workers’ rights are a priority to ensure the continuation of production and work.
