On Wednesday, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, met with a delegation representing the tribes of Eastern Sudan from the Red Sea and Kassala states, in the presence of Red Sea Governor General Mustafa Mohamed Nour.
The meeting addressed the overall security, service, and humanitarian situation in Eastern Sudan and discussed the role of civil society in supporting national issues and promoting unity to overcome the country’s challenges.
In a press statement, Governor Mustafa Mohamed Nour noted that the delegation extended congratulations to the Sovereignty Council Chairman and the Sudanese people on the 69th Independence Anniversary. The delegation also affirmed their support for the armed forces in their battle for dignity against the Dagalo militia.
The governor added that the delegation rejected hate speech and emphasized the importance of national unity to overcome challenges, achieve stability, and provide essential services to Eastern Sudan’s residents.
Al-Burhan thanked the delegation for standing united behind the armed forces to safeguard Sudan’s unity and stability. He affirmed his support for all issues concerning Eastern Sudan.
On behalf of the Eastern Sudan tribes, Chief Mohamed Al-Amin Turk of the Hadendoa tribe extended congratulations to the Sovereignty Council Chairman and the Sudanese people on Independence Day. He praised the armed forces for their commitment to preserving the nation’s achievements, stability, and territorial integrity.
Turk noted that the meeting aimed to outline a roadmap for promoting national unity in Eastern Sudan to achieve security, stability, and peace.
He emphasized the delegation’s firm stance in supporting the government and the armed forces, condemning the terrorist militia’s actions against innocent civilians and the destruction of Sudanese state institutions. Turk also rejected the comparison of the armed forces, which fulfill their national duties, with the terrorist militias seeking to destroy Sudan and commit heinous crimes.
He further declared the tribes’ rejection of foreign interference in Sudanese affairs under the guise of humanitarian aid, highlighting Sudan’s abundant resources.
