Destruction of 22 Tons of Spoiled Food in Gedaref

The Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization in Gedaref destroyed 22 tons of spoiled food, including canned goods, legumes, snacks, baked goods, and pasta, in coordination with relevant security and health authorities.
Abdelhai Ahmed Idris, Acting Director of the Gedaref Sector, stated that this destruction resulted from industrial and service inspections, complaints from official entities and consumers, as well as voluntary reports by traders about expired products in their possession. He praised the outstanding performance of the sector’s employees, achieving over 100% of the required plan.
He urged consumers to report immediately via the hotline 5960 in case of non-compliant goods and products. He also extended greetings to partners on the occasion of Independence Day and called for effective coordination to protect consumers and the national economy.
