The Governor of South Darfur, Bashir Marsal Hasballah, revealed the death of more than 12,000 mercenaries on the outskirts of the 16th Infantry Division in the state capital, Nyala.
He said that the state of Chad has become a center for the sabotage and destruction of Sudan by supplying the Rapid Support Forces militia with weapons and mercenaries. He pointed out that some local administrations in the state have acted outside the law by supporting the militia and leading the youth to their doom. He indicated that they have begun to file charges against 132 mayors who have committed acts against the state.
He added, according to the “Sudan News Agency”: “From the first hour of the outbreak of the war, the militia targeted the 16th Infantry Division, and the war continued until October 26, 2023, where the 71st Division led battles and achieved victory in all these battles, resulting in the death of more than 12,000 mercenaries on the outskirts of the 16th Infantry Division. With the withdrawal of the division on October 26, a civilian government was formed that worked to destroy the state’s infrastructure by all means.”
