The Reality of the Situation… and the Falsehoods of Deception

By Al-Tayyib Gassem Al-Sayed

In a previous article marking the 69th anniversary of Sudan’s independence, I discussed the effects of the international aggression orchestrated to devour Sudan. This was guided by international and regional powers, aided by collaborators and beneficiaries from within the country, aiming to achieve calculated goals planned long ago. These plans exploited the reckless ambitions of the Al-Daqlo family to dominate Sudan, seize power, and establish their imagined kingdom, regardless of the bloodshed, loss of lives, or destruction inflicted upon the country.

That article specifically addressed the impact of this grand international conspiracy on Sudan and its influence on the most notable events, programs, and activities during the year 2024.

In this article, I aim to debunk the lies and claims repeatedly voiced by the advisors of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia through various media outlets. These outlets deliberately choose those most skilled in deceit, distortion, and hollow claims about the situation on the ground in Sudan. They consistently claim to control over 70% of Sudan’s territory. However, the reality speaks of significant and resounding victories by the Sudanese army and the consistent retreat and collapse of the militia on major and critical fronts, including Khartoum, Sennar, Al-Jazeera, and North Darfur.

The Al Jazeera Mubasher program, “The Forgotten War,” has recently become a constant platform exposing the lies of the militia’s spokespersons. It provides a stage for those standing for truth and its supporters, who challenge and refute the claims of the arrogant and self-serving individuals, whether they be advisors or loyalists of the militia.

I recently came across a detailed report documenting the Sudanese army’s victories during 2024. This report seemed to complement my earlier article published in Al-Muhaqqiq last Monday, titled “2024: Events and Shadows.” According to this credible report, the Sudanese army fought fierce, historic battles over the past year.

It achieved resounding and impactful victories that debunked the claims and lies of the militia’s spokespersons across visual, audio, print, and digital media, both regionally and internationally, originating from their fabricated propaganda rooms.

Last year, 2024, was the year of liberating the old neighborhoods of Omdurman. After intense battles, the Sudanese army defeated and expelled the forces entrenched at the Sudanese radio station since the beginning of the war ignited by the militia in April 2023.

The army reclaimed the radio and television building, followed by the convergence of the Wadi and Engineers divisions. It then liberated Al-Halfaya, Al-Doroshab, Al-Samrab, and other vast areas of North Khartoum. The army is now on the verge of uniting its advancing units from the north and south at the Signal Corps point.

The army’s progress also ended the militia’s expansion in Sennar, liberating Jabal Muya, mosques, and shrines of the Ya’qubiyya order. It cleared out militia pockets that had infiltrated Al-Dinder, Al-Suki, Sinja, Wad Al-Neel, and Abu Hajar. Advancing in Al-Jazeera state, it liberated villages in Wad Al-Haddad locality, starting with Qandal Tayba, Qandal Al-Bajour, Hilla Maki, Wad Al-Haddad, Fares, Al-Daniqla, and Al-Hajj Abdullah. The forces have reached the southern gates of Wad Madani city, parallel to advancing troops from the west via Al-Managil axis and the sugar factory west of Sennar, meeting forces approaching from the east near Al-Harqa, Al-Faqeesha, and Al-Jumai’a villages.

These advances culminated in remarkable victories in Darfur, destroying militia bases, facilities, runways, airports, weapon depots, and all tools of looting and aggression. Following this, the Sudanese army crushed militia movements around Malit and Al-Malha, killing or capturing thousands of mercenaries. Key field commanders were neutralized, either killed, captured, or forced to flee, such as the fleeing commander Jumaa Daqlo and others who remain missing, suppressed by the army and joint forces.

If we consider all this alongside the steadfastness of the 6th Division in El-Fasher, the 22nd Division in Babanoosa, and the return of thousands to Sennar and Omdurman, with life normalizing there and services restored, the diminishing militia activity in the north, and the return of residents to areas like Al-Kadro, Al-Doroshab, Al-Samrab, Al-Halfaya, and Shambat…

What progress of the militia are you referring to, O fabricators of lies?
