The Head of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed Al-Araby, stated that Sudanese people trust Egypt and its sincere efforts to stop the fighting in Sudan and put an end to the bloodshed through a comprehensive political solution.
Al-Araby confirmed, in a statement following his meeting with Sudan’s Foreign Minister Ali Yusuf Al-Sharif, that Egypt has left no effort spared in its endeavors to support Sudan, work on restoring security, and fulfill the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
He pointed out that Egypt has been involved in coordinating with regional and international partners to ensure the stability of Sudan while safeguarding its interests, sovereignty, and territorial unity.
He added that Egypt has welcomed various Sudanese political forces to help bridge differences and encourage dialogue, stressing the importance of placing the national interest of Sudan and its people above all else.
Al-Araby explained that the meeting discussed Egypt’s stance supporting an immediate ceasefire and welcomed the decisions of Sudan’s Sovereign Council to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, establish storage centers, and enable UN staff to carry out their duties.
The meeting also addressed Egypt’s support for the restoration of Sudan’s membership in the African Union and confirmed mutual cooperation within international multilateral organizations. The situation of the Sudanese community in Egypt and efforts to provide schools for Sudanese students’ exams were also discussed.
