Health Minister: Shendi Will Become a Center for Localized Treatment

Shendi – Rehab Abdullah
Federal Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim expressed hope that Sudan will soon celebrate the liberation of all its lands from the Rapid Support Forces militia’s presence.
During his speech at the opening ceremony of the pediatric, specialized surgery, and intensive care units at Shendi Teaching Hospital, the minister stated, “We celebrate this achievement, and health in Shendi City,” considering it a strong message to the international and regional community affirming Sudanese determination. He added, “Despite the war and harsh days, and the damage caused by the Rapid Support Forces militia to services, especially health, this is a message that says the people of Sudan are here, and development projects continue, including in health.”
The Minister pointed out his close follow-up to this achievement throughout the previous period, considering it a significant addition to other hospitals in the Nile State, particularly in Shendi, and predicted that Shendi could become a center for comprehensive diagnosis and treatment in Sudan.
He praised the reception in Shendi, where the city opened its doors to accommodate the first and second waves of displacement, providing hospital services and supporting the displaced before the Ministry of Health assisted them.
He highlighted the need for qualified health staff, whether specialists, nurses, or administrators, and emphasized that their success was a crucial factor, calling them “the white army.”
