On Sunday, Major General Shamseddin Musa Abdullah officially took over command of the 3rd Infantry Division during a ceremony held at the division’s headquarters, attended by several commanders.
The handover ceremony was attended by Major General Abdullah Hassan, Commander of Mobile Intelligence Units of Al-Ma’aqil, Major General Omar Al-Sir Ali, Deputy Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, Major General Doctor Rabea Hassan, Commander of the Military Hospital, and Major General Abdel Nasser Salah Hassan, Commander of the Martyr Ayoub Mobile Unit, in addition to brigade commanders, unit commanders, and heads of departments, along with officers and non-commissioned officers of the division.
In his speech, Major General Hamdan Abdel Qader Daoud expressed his pride in the years he spent leading the 3rd Infantry Division, highlighting its long and distinguished history spanning over a century and the tremendous sacrifices made for the homeland, earning it the title “Mother of Martyrs.” He praised the disciplined efforts of the division’s personnel and expressed his confidence in the abilities of his successor, Major General Shamseddin Musa Abdullah, to continue the division’s legacy of service.
For his part, Major General Shamseddin Musa Abdullah thanked the attendees for their participation, commending the leadership of Major General Hamdan Abdel Qader Daoud during his tenure. He emphasized his commitment to continue working towards enhancing security and stability, calling on all officers and non-commissioned officers to work as a united team, upholding the motto of the 3rd Infantry Division, which symbolizes unity and love for the homeland. He concluded his speech with a prayer for victory for the armed forces, mercy for the martyrs, swift recovery for the wounded, and the liberation of prisoners.
