Minister of Finance Promises to Address Obstacles to the Performance of the Medical and Health Professions Council

The Minister of Finance, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, promised to address the obstacles facing the performance of the Sudanese National Medical and Health Professions Council. During his meeting with the council’s delegation, headed by its Secretary-General, at the ministry, he agreed to the proposed solutions submitted by the council. He praised the council’s efforts in stabilizing medical and health professionals during the war and ensuring they were able to provide the necessary services both inside and outside the country. He urged further efforts to improve performance in line with the importance of the council’s role in the medical and health sectors.
For his part, Dr. Zaki Mohamed Al-Bashir, the council’s Secretary-General, presented a report on the council’s activities during the war, stating that the council absorbed the initial shock, resumed its tasks, and restored its basic data since July 2023. It managed to provide services to approximately 126,000 practitioners inside and outside the country. The total revenue deposited by the council into the government’s general account during this period exceeded 400 million Sudanese pounds from domestic transactions and 278 thousand dollars from abroad. Zaki promised to support the children of martyrs from the battle of dignity among the practitioners.
It is worth mentioning that the council’s delegation included the executive director, the director of external centers, the general registrar, the representative of state affairs, and the legal advisor.
