Army: 40 Militants Killed in Al-Fasher, Lieutenant Colonel “Khala” Captured in Desert Axis

Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The 6th Infantry Division in Al-Fasher revealed that on Sunday, Rapid Support Forces militias shelled the southern neighborhoods of Al-Fasher city with 82mm and 120mm mortars, as well as drones. The Sudanese armed forces swiftly responded, supported by air forces, killing 40 militants and destroying six combat vehicles. The remaining militants fled, leaving behind the dead and wounded on the battlefield.
The division stated in a press briefing on Monday that the armed forces, along with joint forces, had arrested Lieutenant Colonel Khala Mansour Mohamed Ali, a Libyan national with Sudanese citizenship, who was living in the Al-Zamalah area south of Al-Fasher market. He was accompanied by two others traveling in two “Tundra” vehicles, coming from Libya with military and logistical support for the militants in Al-Fasher.
The division added that the support consisted of packages of white T-shirts printed with the faces of the dead (Ali Ya’qub, Al-Bishi, and Qarn Shata), sniper rifles, G4 weapons, M16 ammunition, and ready-made meals, based on information provided by Khala during his interrogation.
The division further revealed that Khala was one of the rebel officers who attacked the 6th Infantry Division in Al-Fasher at the start of the war on April 15. He was one of the major financiers of the rebellion throughout the war with the goal of the fall of Al-Fasher.
The division also mentioned that Khala disclosed other plans the militias are arranging these days to seize Al-Fasher. He expressed deep regret for participating in the rebellion, which led to the destruction of Al-Fasher, the city in which he was born and raised.
The division reported that the militias shelled the city with heavy artillery, firing 20 rounds from 2:30 PM until 1:30 AM on Sunday, resulting in the martyrdom of one citizen in his home due to a “Howitzer” shell, as well as another martyr, bringing the total casualties for the day to two martyrs and six injured.
The division noted that the city experienced skirmishes with live ammunition at Maghrib prayer time, but no objectives were achieved.
The 6th Infantry Division confirmed that the security situation in Al-Fasher was stable and completely under control, highlighting that the armed forces, other security forces, joint forces, and mobilized units are working in full harmony and achieving victory after victory with high morale, renewing their resolve to defeat the rebellion soon.
