Howe Urges Newcastle Players: Be at Your Best Against Arsenal

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe said on Monday that his team must capitalize on their current form when they face Arsenal in the EFL Cup semi-final tomorrow (Tuesday). He urged his players not to rest on their recent performances.
Newcastle has won their last six matches across all competitions, including impressive victories over Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking to reporters before traveling to London to face Arsenal, Howe said: “It’s an important match for us. We need to be at our very best to deliver a great performance. There’s a lot at stake for us. We have to be better when losing the ball, solid in defense, and create threats against Arsenal. I don’t think we should overthink it; we just want to strike the right balance between defense and attack. We’ll try to continue our recent good form to aim for a win.”
The English coach praised striker Alexander Isak, who scored in his seventh consecutive league match during their 2-1 win against Tottenham. However, he highlighted that the Swedish forward’s recent goal streak is a result of the team’s collective efforts.
Howe added: “It’s natural for Alex to score goals as he’s currently in great form during matches. The team creates chances for him and plays very well for him and others. Alex is fulfilling his role by finishing those chances, but the team deserves credit for creating those opportunities.”
