“Mineral Resources”: We Settled Dues to Government Entities and Local Communities in 2024

The Director-General of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Mohamed Tahir Omar, revealed that all dues to communities hosting mining industries and localities, as well as state governments, were paid until December of the previous year (2024).
During a meeting on Wednesday at his office in Port Sudan with representatives of the Popular Authority for Development and Promotion of the Gold Locality in the Northern State, he explained that the company supervises the technical operations of the projects after paying the mining communities’ shares, in accordance with Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Jibril Ibrahim’s Decision No. 90, in coordination with community committees and state governments.
Mohamed Tahir praised the strong coordination between the company, the Northern State government, and the local community, mentioning the opening of 22 service projects in various localities of the state at the end of last year. He provided a detailed explanation of the guidelines of the minister’s decision regarding the distribution of the mining sector’s shares and confirmed the provision of all necessary support to communities hosting mining industries and state governments to ensure further stability, increase production, and maximize revenues.
The Chairman of the Popular Authority for Development and Promotion of the Gold Locality, Major General (ret.) Salah al-Din Hussein Saleh, commended the significant efforts made by the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company in executing social responsibility projects in education, health, and water sectors. He also revealed ambitious projects by the authority and studies for the development of the Gold Locality and addressing the impact of the war on youth and infrastructure, noting that plans and programs are being prepared to rehabilitate the youth to play their role in achieving societal development through psychological rehabilitation programs and activating the role of mosques and spreading the call through modern methods and techniques.
