Sudan Receives Shipments of Humanitarian Aid from China

Sudan Events – Reports
The Humanitarian Aid Commission on Wednesday launched shipments of humanitarian aid from China, consisting of 1,200 tons of rice destined for several Sudanese states to assist those affected by the war waged by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia against the country.
The Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, Salwa Adam Binnia, stated in a joint press conference with the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires in Sudan, Jian Qianhua, that the shipment includes rice provided by China. She pointed out that this is not the first time China has provided assistance to Sudan, and this is the first batch of 1,200 tons, which will be distributed across all states, including safe areas in Darfur.
She reiterated her accusation that the RSF militia deliberately prevents aid from reaching those in need, using it as a weapon in the war, and emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering aid, urging the international community to take clear action regarding the militia’s obstruction of humanitarian aid.
Salwa denied that there is a famine in Sudan, noting that the production of crops and grains is promising this season, in addition to the continued arrival of humanitarian aid from sisterly and friendly countries.
She praised China’s supportive stance towards Sudan in international forums, as well as the roles played by Russia, Pakistan, and other countries in assisting Sudan.
For his part, Jian Qianhua, the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires, said China will always stand by Sudan and will continue to provide support and backing. He pointed out that the two countries share a historical relationship and expressed hope for the realization of security and peace in Sudan.
He added, “These aids target various states and will be followed by more assistance soon to alleviate the suffering of Sudanese citizens,” and emphasized that Sudan is a brotherly country close to China. “We appreciate the efforts of the Sudanese government in achieving peace and stability in the country and facilitating the delivery of aid to those in need, and we will stand with Sudan until it overcomes all the challenges it faces.”
