First Counterfeit of New Currency Seized

The Nile River State Police’s Criminal Investigation Department foiled the first attempt to counterfeit the new 1000-pound banknotes in a neighborhood in the city of Atbara.
According to the “Al-Haddad Media” platform, the authorities managed to seize the network involved in counterfeiting the currency, along with a large quantity of forged notes prepared for circulation in the markets.
The authorities also seized the tools used in the crime, including printers and inks.
