Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The official spokesperson for the Sudanese government, Minister of Culture and Information Khaled Al-A’iser, stated that the Sudanese state is a pioneer in justice and law, and does not punish citizens based on rumors, suspicions, or without fair trials.
Al-A’iser pointed out that one satellite channel published a list on its website naming Sudanese citizens and labeling them as collaborators with the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia. He explained that all citizens who were forcibly residing in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces are full citizens, with the same rights as others across Sudan.
He emphasized that the Sudanese government’s approach is “not to punish citizens based on rumors, suspicions, fabricated news, or without proof of involvement and after fair trials.”
He added, “The Sudanese Armed Forces have sacrificed martyrs and wounded, and liberated cities for the sake of the citizen, his freedom, and dignity, and it cannot deprive any citizen of these legitimate rights.”
