The Acting Director-General of the Customs Forces, Major General Salah Ahmed Ibrahim, has directed an immediate delegation to Wad Madani to inspect the customs facilities in the city, which include the headquarters of the Gezira State Customs Administration, its branches, the state’s anti-smuggling headquarters, and the customs compound buildings. They will assess the required repairs, equipment, and workforce so that operations can resume promptly after coordination with the state’s security agencies.
In a press statement on Monday, he confirmed that the Customs headquarters is ready to provide everything necessary for operations to restart soon. Customs communications indicated that arrangements are complete, and the advance delegation will depart within the next two days, followed by another team for logistical and technical preparations to ensure the resumption of state customs activities.
