British Newspaper: Halting Foreign Interventions Will End Sudan’s War

Sudan Events – Agencies
The Financial Times reported that shifting power dynamics in the Middle East could present an opportunity to end Sudan’s ongoing war. The newspaper emphasized that curbing external interference is key to halting the conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF.
In an article, the U.S. Deputy Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Payton Knopf, likened Sudan to Gaza, describing it as the largest collapsed state in modern history with the world’s largest displacement crisis.
Knopf argued that Middle Eastern powers influencing Syria’s future hold keys to Sudan’s resolution. He suggested that peace might be brokered around the warring factions rather than through them, with Western and regional partners forging an agreement.
