Dutch Striker Malen Joins Aston Villa from Dortmund

Dutch forward Donyell Malen has joined Aston Villa from Borussia Dortmund, the two clubs announced on Tuesday.

The transfer fee was not disclosed, but reports suggest that the Premier League club paid around £20 million (24.36 million USD) for the 25-year-old forward.

Malen, who began his career at Arsenal’s academy, scored 39 goals in 132 appearances for Dortmund since joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2021. He helped the team reach the UEFA Champions League final last year, where they lost to Real Madrid.

This season, Malen scored five goals across all competitions, including one in a 3-1 win over Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga last month.

Aston Villa, currently in eighth place in the Premier League with 32 points, will face Everton on Wednesday.
