Djokovic Praises Portuguese Faria: A Bright Future Awaits Him

Veteran Serbian star Novak Djokovic confirmed that his performance varied during his match against Portuguese player Jaime Faria in the Australian Open on Wednesday.
According to Agence France-Presse, Djokovic stated after the match: “I think my reaction was very good in the third set, especially the way I closed out the match in the fourth set.”
Djokovic praised his opponent, Faria, adding: “He played wonderfully, made me struggle towards the end of the second set and the start of the third. I told him after the match that a bright future awaits him.”
The Serbian star set a new record in Grand Slam tournaments after advancing to the third round of the men’s singles at the Australian Open by defeating Faria, ranked 125th in the world, with a score of 6-1, 6-7, 6-3, and 6-2.
This was Djokovic’s 430th match in Grand Slam tournaments, surpassing Swiss Roger Federer, who previously held the record for the most Grand Slam match participations.
