Poland: Russia Planned “Aerial Terrorism” Against Airlines Worldwide
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk revealed on Wednesday that Russia had planned “aerial terrorism” against airlines around the world. Tusk told reporters: “All I can say, and I won’t go into details, but I can confirm the validity of these concerns, is that Russia planned aerial intimidation, not only against Poland but against airlines globally,” according to AFP.
In a related context, the Polish Prime Minister pledged to use Poland’s presidency of the European Union to push forward Ukraine’s request to join the union. Tusk told reporters in Warsaw, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky by his side, “We will break the deadlock on this issue.” He added, “We will accelerate the accession process.”
Zelensky is in Poland today, after the two countries reached an agreement regarding the exhumation of Polish victims’ remains from the World War II massacres committed by Ukrainian nationalists, according to the Associated Press.
Poland currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, a 27-member bloc that Ukraine aspires to join. Warsaw will have the influence to place this issue at the top of the agenda for the next six months.
